When You Feel So Pressured to Make Money You Can’t Think
Your marriage falls apart, you or your partner is laid-off, or your spouse gets ill and you lose half your household income.
The financial pressures sweep in like a sudden high tide, and as one of my clients wrote me, “I feel so pressured to make money I can’t think.”
What do you do in a situation like this? “Forget about the bladdy-blah-blah of patience and organic growth, man! I need to make the rent like, yesterday!”
Okay, but first you need to know about the two wings of growth. Read this article.

How far did you fly on the two wings?
Comfort, Comfort, Comfort… Queen!
Jennifer Louden has been my client for quite some time, and she is amazing. Honest, direct, and unquenchable in her pursuit of her own truth and authenticity.
One of the amazing things about having a business like mine is I have clients all over the globe. The down side is rarely do we get to actually meet in person.
Jennifer was in Portland the other day promoting her newest book The Life Organizer, and so we had dinner, and I also heard her speak at New Renaissance.
In person, just relaxing and having dinner she’s a great. But, let me tell you, speaking, she is a transmission machine. What do I mean by that?
Okay, okay… I Get It
I have resisted blogging for a long time. Well… resisted isn’t exactly the right word.
I had my own strategies for connecting with folks, and building my business from my heart. I had seen and experienced blogging as a really fun and interesting way to connect, and a bit of a time-waster, too.
I’m convinced. My friend and colleague Dawud Miracle, as well as a bunch of people from The Business Oasis (our heart-centered online business community), have shown me the power of blogging. Yea, I am a believer.
So, I’m going to start being in conversation in the larger world.
What convinced me? A two things.
I’m Just a Girl Who Can’t Say No
One of the members of the Business Oasis, our online heart-centered business community, started a conversation about the drain that helping other people has on her. “I’m just a girl who can’t say no,” she told us.
Electric response! It seems many people have this same issue. Of course we do.
We want to help. We want to be liked. We want to be useful. And, we’re all so used to coping with our own problems, that it seems a small thing to just suppress our own needs a little longer to help out another human.
The ticking time bomb.
Well, I’m assuming that you’re like me, and that years of suppressing needs has coiled the spring tighter and tighter. Suddenly, it seems as if life is just living from one time-bomb to the next, always ready to explode into overwhelm.
And still, still, still we don’t say “No” when we need to. We get sick, we collapse, we hide, rather than saying “No.”
Okay, it’s not always that bad. But… sometimes it is.
Besides, isn’t “No” a spiritual no-no?
Isn’t everyone always telling you to say “Yes” and accept what the Divine brings you? Aren’t we supposed to be of service? Isn’t selfishness a sin?
Well, yeah, kinda. But, not ‘zackly.
Saying no is actually an important skill in your business. Read this article.

Why Valuing Yourself More Can Shut Down Your Business
Those creepy-crawly doubts of competence and confidence can knock you flat. “Am I really worth it?” “Can I really charge this much?” “Am I any good at what I do?”
It’s normal to think those things, and I bet you do, too.
As normal as they are, they can paralyze you. Make you shy to offer help to people. Turn you into a shrinking wallflower, hiding your light under a double-thick wool blanket.
But, there’s an answer: just work on valuing yourself more!
BZZZZZZZZ- wrong answer.
Trying to value yourself more can bring a whole host of problems. Read this article.
