Since 1999, I’ve been in love with helping spiritually rooted business owners who need to depend on their businesses to support them.
I grew up in my family’s small retail business, where I witnessed the care that grows through long relationships with neighbors and customers.
I also came of age in punk rock in the 1980s. As an activist, I grew depleted, caught in rage and grief. Meanwhile, friends doing wonderful things in the world, from organic gardeners and healers to corporate consultants rooted in love and spirit, were struggling to make a living with their gifts. In helping them, I realized I knew more about marketing and business than I thought.
My own spiritual formation included Starhawk’s Reclaiming Collective, Renewal Judaism and Queer Minyan, and Islamic Sufism in the Shaddhiliyya lineage. I went on to earn a Master of Divinity and complete three years of training in Sufi spiritual healing, with a specialization in Business Healing.
Heart of Business grew where those parts of my life came together.
