We finally shipped out The Sacred Moment HomeStudy Course on Friday- or at least most of them- there are a few more to go out this week.
Like I said in the last post, creating a quality product, especially a premium product, is a real labor of love and takes a great deal of focus, energy, attention, and time, time, time.
It’s easy to come up with ideas for products, but not so easy to create ones that sell. And even harder to avoid creating a smorgasbord of product offers that don’t really have any coherence.
My advice stands for your first product: just create it. It can be a mess. It can be less than perfect. It can be whatever it is. It’s okay, it’s your first product.
Ah, but once you’ve finished your first product, and you are moving into your second, it’s time to grow up just a bit. You want to start thinking: Why am I creating another product? Where does it fit?
Ask: Would someone use it before or after or instead of your first product?
Ask: Does it create continuity with your first product in any way?
Ask: What did you learn from your first product that you are NOT going to do with the new one?
Instead of a disconnected menu of product offers, can you start to conceive of your information and your products as a “body of work.”
In your business, do you have a ‘smorgasbord’ or a ‘body of work?’ And, would your customers agree with you?
