Yes, we’ve been talking about this day for a while now, and here it is. Here we are. Yeah! The water is fresh and cool. The landscape is lush and full of great information accessible by way of many well-marked trails.
The old raggedy tent is retired and in its place stands a new colorful one made of the finest fabric to hold us all as we get back to the virtual business of supporting each other in our businesses. At the same time rest assured that although there is much that’s new, past posts, articles, interviews, Q&As, and member classes are still there for you to peruse.
What’s New?
The Oasis and Tent are now fully integrated into a WordPress environment, making it easier for us to administer and for you to navigate. You’ll now be posting in a BBPress forum supported by WishList.
The two main additions we’ve added, at your request, are a Member Directory and a better system for organizing posts. You’ll find the Member Director under “Community” in the navigation bar. Get to know your Business Oasis community [link]. What we’ve been able to do is use Tags as a way to make threads searchable by topic. You’ll no longer need to scroll through 100’s of threads looking for an interesting place to enter a conversation.
The challenge is that you need to remember to tag each of your posts using one or more of the ten topics we’re using to organize posts and teachings (articles, Q&As, and Interviews). They are listed above the “Tag” dialogue box in the new post window:
3 Journeys of Marketing
Business Relationships

As always, we love to get your input. This is your site. We want it to work for you!
We Need Your Help with Some Finishing Touches
Of course, we want this transition to be seamless, and as we all know the unexpected should always be expected. Because the site is new to all of us, we need your help with a few things:
1. Filling out our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. As you begin orienting yourself to the new site, please post to “Questions about how this new Oasis and Tent?” [link]. If you’re an old-time Tent user, please consider not only questions you have but what newcomers might need to know. We will then create our FAQ page.
2. Offer us ideas for what to include in our audio/video tutorial on our “Wishing we had a detailed tutorial?” thread [link]. This is another feature we want to provide. With your help and our increasing familiarity with the programs, we hope to create a easy to follow tutorial for new members to use to quickly get up to speed.
3. Please take the time to go to your profile and fill out any empty field you can, including your picture, biographical info, and the fields all the way at the bottom under “Membership Directory Information.” We want to encourage you to put out your Who-Who-What, to know what others are doing in their businesses, and even take advantage of each others’ services. The more we support each other in this way, the more heart-centered businesses will influence the marketplace.
4. Also remember, we’re always looking for good suggestions for people to interview and groups of folks who what to come together for Q&As. Keep letting us know what you want to know about.
We really hope the new site and its organization and its new navigation help bring more focus and ease during your time hanging out with us here on this love-drenched Business Oasis.

Last week I delved into “Another Way to Fill A Class,” comparing having a longer promotion campaign to building up anticipation and having a very short buying window.
But what if your stuff doesn’t sell at all? One reader asked this question:
“Hey Mark! Have another request I’d like your thoughts on. I agree that building a product, program or business to sell out at big bucks takes lots of care and feeding over a long period of time, but not all ideas are worth that investment in time. read more . . .

What? Teaching Sells sold out in 12 hours? (Or was it six hours?) Either way, they sold out three quarters of a million dollars in products in less than a day?
Makes you wonder… How do “they” do that?
Earlier this year in my article, “7 Necessaries for Filling a Course” [make this a live link], under the subhead “Allowing More Time Than You Think,” I wrote: read more . . .
