Portland, Friday, April 17
Before we get to today’s video, here’s a quick invitation if you’re anywhere in or near Portland, Oregon. I’m holding a half-day workshop on April 17. Take a look! I’d love to meet you in person.
How to find clients and charge your right price.
And now, on to today’s topic…
By the time April rolls around, if you’re like me, you’ve gotten to know the current year a bit. 2015, how’ya doin’?
What starts to become crystal clear by now is whether or not you’ve made progress on your priorities for this year.
I’m guessing, if you’re like me, that you have at least one in the “not” category.
Here at Heart of Business we’ve never been big fans of the drill sergeant approach, “Get it done, soldier!” Yet, you still probably do need to “Get it done.”
Yollana has taken on this painful, necessary topic for you the same way she helps her clients make terrific progress.
The video she made is less than 5 minutes, and well worth it. Take a look:
Is there a project you’re wanting to move? If so, what changes for you when you bring vulnerability to that project? Let’s inspire each other! Post your comment below!
P.S.: Ready for some help?
I want to make a pitch for Small Group Coaching, because it’s just amazing what can happen when a small handful of people get together to support one another AND you have the support and facilitation of someone super experienced at helping you move your business along.
Yollana has a few spots left between her two groups, and Jason is starting a second group himself. And there might or might not be a space in my own small group.
I encourage you to take a look: Small Group Coaching
On the other hand, sometimes you just want focused attention, and that’s where 1-1 help comes in. I want to highlight Lincoln Wachtel, one of our practitioners as well as our Business Director. He has deep experience in business, and also has the same Sufi healership training I’ve had.
Take a look: Lincoln Wachtel
And if you don’t resonate with Lincoln, take a look at our other practitioners: Individual help through the Organic Business Development Program.

Oh, wow! Does this hit home! In December, I had the inspiration to write a book. Working title of the book: “Conscious Fertility, Birth, and Parenting,” especially highlighting Reiki, but also a few other things that I wish I had known sooner as a parent. Because of personal obligations, I didn’t start on it until the beginning of March. It was great for a few weeks, and then I hit a brick wall. Do I do something more “professional,” with research and “official” backing – or do I write more of a memoir? And suddenly I feel stuck. I have also read that one should start marketing even while writing the book. Suddenly, there are some external circumstances that are taking so much of my time! Ha-ha! So, yes. I feel vulnerable. Luckily, I will have a meeting with Master Mind group today and will go into Remembrance with this vulnerability. And I am also looking at other avenues of support. I have to say that I hate having the excitement and forward movement suddenly stopped, as if I have hit a brick wall. This has happened often in my life. Yuck! Thank you, Yollana, for pointing out the vulnerability piece!
Thanks for sharing, Siddheswari. So glad you have your mastermind group to take this too… And that you have the opportunity to clear the blocks and write this wonderful book!
Oh…is that why I haven’t gotten more done on my website…its not lack of time…while I was listening to Yollana i realized “I don’t want to receive more people right now because I feel like I can’t handle interacting with them-receiving them”.
Ok…great insight.
Shelley
This touched me deeply. I’ve been feeling so blocked with promoting myself – creating the momentum to build business – as a personal chef or as a trainer of Compassionate Communication. What came when I asked to be shown my vulnerability is that I’m scared the chef business (what makes the most money) will take off and then the trainings will be pushed out. Off the top of my head, I imagine making an agreement with myself that I can stay connected to what feeds me, what nurtures me, and stay connected to my choices along the way.
Michelle- Thank you for sharing that vulnerability- so beautiful! And yes, you can care for yourself and still let the goodness in, eh?
Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
