Okay, on the with the show!
Two topics I want to touch on today! One is from our practitioner Yollana Shore, who did an impromptu video with her kids, the older one had taught the younger one how to play chess… or had she?
(And her kids are so cute…)
The other one was a Facebook post I wrote last week that kind of exploded. It had to do with receiving negative, unasked-for feedback and comments. I wrote it because someone withdrew from our programs, but added a little impolite zinger at the end.
I don’t want to repeat what was said, even though I know you all are probably really curious. We did receive other, more polite, responsible communications from this person. Everyone can have a bad moment, Lord knows I have.
At this point in my life’s journey, I’m not hurt by comments like this. I have a strong sense of my own sovereignty, and this didn’t impact me in a negative way, except for maybe about 5 seconds. I’m fine with how my emails are. And if I need feedback, I’ll take them from people I trust.
Here’s the lesson that resonated with so many people: don’t get feedback about your business, your projects, your voice from folks who don’t cherish you. People have their own agendas, their own filters.
Yes, get honest feedback, sometimes even severe feedback. But always from love.
