About blessings
One of the dynamics I most enjoy about spiritual practice is that it can take the personal effort out of it. Many of us are very familiar with workshop-style exercises from the personal development approach, where we’re putting in effort and insight to change ourselves.
This is very valuable work, and yet it can only take us so far.
Spiritual practices are meant to take us further. We do the practices, and the practices themselves do the work. Whether it’s chanting, or meditation or prayer, it doesn’t require personal effort of will and conscious intent to see change happen. You could call it miraculous. 🙂
Blessings fall into that category. A blessing given with love can carry you far, can shower you with good things, and can sometimes do the equivalent of redirecting you, like a train being switched onto a new, more direct track.
It’s one of the reasons I give a blessing to many of our clients and participants. People can feel it.
So, whether it ends up being just heart-warming experience, or something more profound and lasting, I offer you this blessing. It’s purely an audio file, so you can close your eyes and take it into the heart.
Mark’s Sufi Blessing
It’s less than 3 minutes. I encourage you to turn everything else off, take a gentle breath, and let yourself receive it. I asked for every heart that is meant to receive this blessing to come up in front of my own heart as I gave it, and I consider it to be a valid and intentional blessing, not just a recording.
And yes, you have permission to share this with whomever you feel could use it.
