Three very different reasons you don’t follow through

Of course good people, committed people who are all in on their business still confront the issue of not following through with important projects. Avoidance, stuckness… it happens.

There are (at least) three very different reasons why people don’t follow through, and yet most people only look at one of these reasons… and that keeps them stuck, unnecessarily.

Walk with me, and let’s take a compassionate view on why maybe you’re not following through, and how to unstick the issue.
Does this help? Does it open the way for you? Are there are others you know of for being stuck?

Our next course: Leading Groups

I first taught this course last year, after having taught it within our Learning Community, and it really helped new people step into leading groups for the first time, and it also helped more experienced people refine their groups and make them much easier to lead.

There are some really good reasons to lead groups in your business. You can make more money in less time, you can keep your work accessible while increasing your revenue. You can just really have fun with it.

And, on top of all that… in these urgent times, maybe we can get the help to more people, more quickly?

I’m absolutely not in favor of getting rid of one-on-one work- I still work individually with clients myself.

At the same time, groups can be an amazing way to impact more people than you ever could individually.

The course will run four Tuesdays, starting July 29.

  1. Hi Mark, I love the video about the 3 reasons people get stuck; it’s so compassionate and clear.

There is another reason that came to mind regarding a ritual event I planned to create, but never got around to it.
I found myself curious, as I’m not usually a procrastinator. After some self inquiry I realised that my heart just wasn’t into doing this event. I was motivated by the need to earn money, a desire to use some beautiful dyed cords that I’d made some years ago, and also because some people were asking for me to teach/create again.

The truth was that my heart and soul were not aligned to doing this thing. I was being called in another direction, towards some new writing, and that new direction took off. very quickly, with great joy.

PS you asked for comments, but I couldn’t see any thread, so hope it’s Ok to leave a message here. Much love to you and appreciation for all that you offer.

  2. Thank you Mark. I really liked this video, it really struck home when you said something like ‘you’re just being unkind’. and that that was based on logic, the ‘facts’ of the situation. I also think I get stuck with trying to decide what is most important ….where to start when there seems to be soooo much to be done. Thank you for sharing your observations and experience.
