I don’t pretend to put myself on a level with those amazing masters of Love Rumi and Hafiz, but I was inspired by bits of their poetry this morning and mixed in some things that came to me with gems from them.
I trust you’ll enjoy them. And perhaps add your own. -Mark
Spirituality is not a tool for success. It is a flame that burns everything in love. Success is a Divine Quality that comes out of that flame.
Don’t do daily prayers like a bird pecking, moving its head up and down. Prayer is an egg. Hatch out the total helplessness inside.- Rumi
We long for and are frightened by love. As we should be. Love overtakes, annihilates and recreates everything in its path.
The Sun never says to the Earth, “You owe me.” Look what happens with a love like that, it lights up the whole sky. – Hafiz
The heart mirrors what it witnesses. What is your heart witnessing–Oneness and love, or confusion?
We’re all holding hands and climbing. Not loving is a letting go. Dear one, the terrain is too dangerous around here for that. – Hafiz

Mark, this is beautiful! The first Rumi quote about “hatching out” is one of my favorites. A few years back, it inspired me to create a piece of artwork. I wrote about that process here: http://unfoldingmoment.blogspot.com/2009/09/retrospective-crack-in-everything-part.html Thanks for the reminder about that experience, which was a meaningful lesson for me.
Mmmm… lovely, Tracy. I’m so glad I could bring that back to you.
Needed this so much. Balm, balm. LOVE it!
That’s what they were to me, Almah. 🙂
Thank you Mark, you are a light?
