A Cure for Procrastination vs Overwhelm: Heart-Centred Goal Planning

Just over a year ago, when my second baby was born, I gave the blog on my coaching and healing website a holiday. Basically, to avoid overwhelm. But for well over a few months now I’ve been ‘toying’ with the idea of writing another post. Meaning: I’ve been thinking about it, but no action yet. Are there any ideas that you’ve been ‘toying with?’ in your business.

Is it procrastination? Or am I being gentle with myself? How do you tell the difference?

Well, two things can help.

1. Removing judgment. Beating up on yourself sucks. It just ain’t helpful. The fact is that ‘being productive’ and ‘avoiding overwhelm’ are both valid choices. If you can take some time to create acceptance for that in your heart, then you make space for thinking clearly about the whole thing.

2. Heart-centred goal planning. There’s a bonus audio that comes with Unveiling the Heart of Your Business called “Heart Centred Goal Planning.” Have you listened to it? Planning is a beautiful thing for helping with overwhelm because it can take a task out of the pressure-filled place of “I should be doing it now” and into a more wholesome place of “I know that I want to do that project, and I know that I feel quite full in my life right now. So I sit with it and find an appropriate timeframe. I feel I can relax now, knowing that I plan to start that project in x days/weeks/months, etc.”

Get the difference. It’s kinda like writing a shopping list when your head’s full. It just takes the pressure off.

Does that make sense? What dya reckon?

See you in the Tent,
