Getting Email Notifications for New Posts to Threads in the Tent
Trisha Cupra, our techie guru/Wordpress Wiz is always looking for work arounds to help us do more within the limitations of our forum structure. The latest is a way of using Favorites to get email alerts to new posts.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Click on your name in the upper left corner after “Welcome.”
- Click the “Edit” tab.
- Scroll down a bit and check the “Activate” box under “Favorite Notification.”
- Check the “Activate” box under “Add my threads automatically to my favorites.”
Now threads you’ve started or posted to will go to your favorites automatically. Whenever a new post happens in one of your favorites, you’ll get email notification.
This only really takes a minute or two to set up and does everything but email you when a new thread is created by someone else. For that, you just need to stroll around the Tent and check who’s talkin’ about what, and get involved where you will. The automation will do the rest.
