Now that we’ve gotten through the winter holidays, it is apparent to everyone, or maybe it’s just me, that how you eat affects you profoundly. When the food is that good and also that unhealthy, it’s really hard to make choices that feel good and serve you.
Since I’m on retreat this week and next, it’s especially timely for you to see this short interview I did with Meg Worden about eating, the creative process, and kicking self-care to the curb. Yes, to the curb. And watercress. And then we’re interrupted by my cat coughing up a hairball. Yes, it’s worth watching. ๐
Meg is the author of Salad Alchemy. Here’s what I have to say about it: go get it. And here’s what I have to say about Meg: if you resonate with what she’s saying, talk to her.

Why put your self care off any longer?

Thanks! That was a light and refreshing outlook on food and self care, stating the importance of making choices for the joy and ease of eating to nourish our minds and bodies so we can be and do what we need to.
So glad you enjoyed it, Joya. Your comment is so appreciated.
Wow, Mark!
I don’t remember ever seeing you look (and Feel) so joyously alive ~ and Meg’s glowing energy positively shimmers off the screen!!
Thanks for this – a fabulous way to start a new year, or any day for that matter!
Bright Joyful Blessings to you both ~ Karen J
So nice to hear. Thanks for being here, Karen and for taking the time to say this. Have a lovely day.
Oooo, thank you for this. Excited to see more from Meg Worden.
Self-care can become such a bland, passed over phrase. This makes it come alive again.
So glad you enjoyed it, CJ. Totally agree on the need to make self care seem alive again. Glad to be connected. ๐ Have a great day.
Meg’s “Salad Alchemy” is sumptuous. Just the simple preparation, the visuals, the smells- are a feast.
I love this interview. The going to the beach metaphor is so powerful. Meg’s take on self-care parallels my view on finances AND it really opens a lot of spaciousness and grace for me. I often struggle with doubt with how I feed myself. Let’s get self-care handled so we can get on with our purpose!
Thank you for this!!
Spaciousness and grace. Love.
Thanks so much for your kind words and comments, Christyna.
Nice contribution. Thanks. Keep up the good work here. carry on
Thanks for saying so. ๐ Hope you have a lovely day, Video Dolly.
Ah…you have both freed me! Once I watched the video, I immediately felt an internal sigh of relief. I effortlessly stopped my “wrestling an alligator” approach to self-care. It’s just vanished! No effort, no wrangling with myself about being a responsible adult, blah, blah, blah.
It just stopped, and I have effortlessly taken great care of myself since the day I watched. No effort to eat or sleep or exercise. I just DID them without drama and a need to be rewarded.
Blessings to you both!
This is most excellent news, Athena! So glad you’re here and that you shared this.
