Are you wearing a mask in your business?

mark-silver-160x168You know, teaching as an Islamic Sufi Jewish (aka “Jufi”) spiritual teacher in the world of business, doing business healing and training, I’ve definitely been tempted to hide who I am at times.

Thankfully, I rarely feel that way now, but it took time for me to sink into my own sovereignty about it.

In speaking to a client recently who has a tremendous amount of potential in her business, and regularly receives rave reviews for her work, she was still hamstrung by the very rare “potshots” that someone would make who was disgruntled.

It takes strength, humility and focus to ignore the potshots while still being open to genuine and helpful critique and feedback. Because you do need to be open and you do need to ignore the potshots, both.

Yollana deals with this issue beautifully, so take the four minutes and watch what she has to say.

It takes strength to ignore potshots & be open to genuine, helpful critique.

We want to hear from you: How can you unmask yourself?

It’s so much easier to unmask yourself when you have some success under your wings. And success comes when you actually enroll clients and bring in money, without feeling yucky about it.

If you’re struggling to say what you do clearly, to enroll clients, to earn real money, I want to recommend you look at our live program, Foundations1: Clients and Money. Thousands of people have been through this material over the last ten years, with outstanding results. (Meaning more clients and more money, plus a renewed sense of health and happiness around business.)

Plus we make a promise unusual in business trainings: we promise, and deliver, that every single question asked gets answered. So there’s no issue with you implementing what you learn in your own business, with expert help and guidance to do so.

The September start date is right around the corner, so if you’re interested, now is the time to jump in:

  1. A lovely and timely post, thank you.
Being authentic as much as I can is definitely part of my journey in business. Sometimes removing a mask means removing a layer of self-defence e.g my latest blog post attracted many favourable responses, but it was the one negative response that gnawed away at my heart! That’s when my inner resources get most tested, and when I need remembrance, prayer and meditation just to survive.

    1. Derek- I so get what you’re saying about removing a layer of self-defense. We’re all so tender, and we need protection because we haven’t been cherished in the way we deserve. So glad you got through that experience with connection…

  2. Lovely unmasking talk, Yollana. Thanks, Mark, for bringing this today.

I’ve embraced this very thing — unmasking — for a while now, in my life, in my blog, and in my offers (my website design and branding services are called Unmask Your Brand), and yet it’s still so tender sometimes!

So grateful to be on this journey with you, and for your wisdom.

    Blessings!
    Sue

  3. Thanks Yollana,
It took me years to “come out” as a holistic nurse healer in health care. I remember doing energy work with a patient in the ICU, my hands gliding 3″ above the patient, visible for all to see. Feeling very vulnerable and exposed, I turned to Trust in the work and our purpose for being together…And I got lots more calls from nurses and doctors to come and see their patients. I always feel inspired by your videos. Keep ’em coming! Cheers, Jackie

  4. Thanks Yollana,
it was the medium as well as the message that worked for me, you seemed really thoughful, thinking as you were speaking, and sharing rather than trying to make an impression. The idea that business can be congruent with love is an idea that I strive towards – but sometimes feels undermined by the knowledge of how so much of current business as usual puts profits before people.
