Yollana in a Mango Tree Plus Small Groups

pinataA friend of the family helped our son David make a home-made pinata for his birthday party, which worked spectacularly well. Because of time constraints (they made it the day before the party!) it was less sturdy than some pinata’s I’ve known, only two layers of newsprint before the colorful paper on the outside.

This pinata had to face the awesome power of about 25 6 year-olds each taking a whack at it. Since it only had a couple of layers, instead of cracking it dented. Dented! The consequence was that it lasted far longer than it would have if it cracked, and nearly every kid got a turn before it burst open spectacularly, spilling little chocolate coins and ninja figurines everywhere.

Things done quickly can have surprising strength and resilience. I pushed a client to write something quickly, from the gut, and it had far more impact and resonance with his audience than other writing done more cautiously and slowly.

Not to say that care and craftsmanship isn’t important- it can be critically important. But when you are trying something new, sometimes it’s better to just get it out there.

This seems to be in tension with the message that Yollana gives us about the mango tree. But the real message isn’t to go fast or slow, but to go with the Divine timing that is presented. And what’s most helpful with that Divine timing?

For me, it’s to have some help along the way. We had a spectacular crew of friends come together to make the birthday weekend happen with real beauty. If it was just our little nuclear family, it would’ve been more exhausting, less fun, and I doubt whether the pinata would’ve gotten made.

Before we get to Yollana’s video, I want to mention we’re offering 3 beautiful, powerful ways to get a small group around you to help your business fly in 2015.

There’s even a way to start in December, instead of waiting for January.

Small Group Coaching, in a truly small group (no more than 6 people), is the best of both worlds. A small group of like-hearted business owners to propel you quickly forward, and the experienced wisdom of a coaching and healer guiding and supporting you all.

There are very, very limited spots. Each of us, Jason, Yollana and myself, only have 6 spots available. This is going to be a special journey for those ready for it. Take a look and get your application in.

Now, take a look at Yollana’s video, where she is standing way up in a mango tree. I’ve never seen a mango tree, much less been in one.

What do you see in yourself around getting help and Divine timing?

  1. This video brought tears to my eyes. I think it’s because Yollana so sweetly and gently put words to exactly how I’ve been feeling. Super sensitive around where I am now and where I’m going. I “should” know but right now I’m stumped (BTW-auto correct kept trying to make “stumped” into “stupid” which is how is feel. As if after all this time, I should have it together.

    1. Thank you for sharing this vulnerability, Casey. Isn’t it radical to question the “shoulds” and consider that perhaps you are just as and where you are meant to be? Much love and gentleness to you as you explore this…

  2. It is a continual practice for me – to get out of “the shoulds” and just be in the moment, trusting the journey.

One of the other gifts of Yollana’s message for me was that the little mangos need the help of the tree and it’s roots, to grow from “little and green” into sweet, ripe mangoes ready for the world. It’s totally acceptable for nature to rely on help. Why do we resist it so?

  3. Beautiful video! Lovely to see you, Yollana! Thank you for bringing us back to our hearts in such a delightful way! This is perfect for me as I am in some sort of transition from a 9-month sabbatical to I-don’t-yet-know-what. For now, probably an extension of the sabbatical at least, while I listen more and more to my heart and let that sweet little green mango grow and ripen.

  4. This is a fantastic insight: it’s okay to be little and green.
Thinking of myself as a little, green promise helps tremendously in not taking myself so seriously– even though I do serious work all the time.
    Thank you, Yollana!

  5. Thank you, Yollana – just what I needed to view today. In my business this week I’ve experienced something of a “I threw a party and nobody came!” feeling — which is not true at all. I’ve been trying to recenter, to celebrate what IS happening, and to recognize that next time I do this again, it will almost certainly be a riper mango. So, lovely — I celebrate the little green promises that dangle in my business right now!

  6. Thanks so much Yollana, and perfect timing for me to hear. I have certainly been feeling vulnerable about asking for help, and even though I had the awareness that I have come a long way, and should not really expect myself to be other than where I am, your beautifully inspired video gave me a wonderful gift of clarity, I am a little green mango of promise unfolding!!! Blessings……………Lisa
