This past weekend I had taken my twin sons to a birthday party, and so was standing in the kitchen talking with some of the other adults, away from the unicycle-lego craziness, when I heard yet another story of someone being inappropriately pitched high-priced business training.
Luckily, this person was so shocked by the price they weren’t even tempted to sign up. Thank goodness!
Business training in particular is subject to this price inflation because being in business vulnerably touches both the deep dreams in your heart and your financial survival. This vulnerable combination is used to manipulate many unsuspecting business owners into taking on unmanageable debt for training that won’t help them.
To help you and anyone you care about avoid getting taken, I created a totally free guide.
The guide covers three points:
- 11 Common manipulative sales tactics, so they’ll have no power over you.
- The truth about business training.
- What is ethical pricing, and how does it apply to business training.
I also created a summary “cheat sheet” page to make it easy to refer back to when you are considering a business training.
Note: Due to the ongoing popularity of this guide, we’ve moved it to it’s own page:
You can go get it now- Just click the cover or the link below. And yes, please share it with whomever you like- just send it to them. Although instead of emailing it to someone as an attachment, which you are welcome to do, and it might be easier to send people to this post.

I hope you enjoy it! And please, I would love to hear your impressions and reactions.
Wondering where your business is developmentally?
Some people think their business is broken, but chances are it’s just in a certain developmental stage, and needs to grow up some more to be able to do what you’d like to see it do.
Or, maybe you’re just overwhelmed trying to do a million things that seem necessary. What if you understood exactly where your business was, what it needs now, and what you can safely ignore until (much) later?
Take our free Readiness Assessment and find out what stage your business is in.

Every act of business can be an act of love.
Special Note: Tomorrow is U.S. Thanksgiving, a conflicted, painful holiday. I pray that we can encompass all that’s true. It’s a traditional time for many US families to gather and enjoy one another. If you’re gathering with loved ones, I hope it’s deeply nourishing for you.
It is also a holiday that references a false history, and marks the beginning of genocide for indigenous people on this continent. I encourage you to read An Indigenous People’s History of the United States. Read an interview with the author, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.
