[Video] These times, and your business, don’t need more spontaneity

Some years ago I got tired of reading business books and started reading many more books on social change. Although I do continue to read books on business, the latest book is not that. It’s entitled This Is An Uprising and it got me thinking about social change, business and what it really takes for you, and your clients, to feel supported.

And even more than supported, how to make real changes that stick over time. To your business, for your clients, for the world.

I made this video. It’s a tiny history lesson, it’s a reality check, and it’s an impassioned plea. Take a look.

I’m so curious, what’s your relationship to what I talked about? Do you spend a significant amount of time on Deep Thinking? (aka “strategy”)

With hugs and big gratitude,

p.s. In case you missed it yesterday: Accelerating Growth starting in March

Last year we ran our F3: Accelerating Growth program, on the strategic topics of Business Model, Systems and Teams- the most boring topics imaginable… until you need them.

Then they are exciting! The challenge is that just when it seems your business could be fun, it isn’t. You hit an income ceiling you can’t get beyond, you end up exhausted, frustrated, and feeling like you can’t get the help you need.

This is a 22 week, hands-on, live program that both Steve Mattus, our Director of Education/systems maven, and I, Mark Silver, will co-teach to only 14 people. Here’s what one of our participants said about the beta version last year, that had less support than this year’s does:
“I’m also feeling much more confident about the future of my business – the feelings of “this is not sustainable” have vanished. I’ve just experienced my most profitable month ever, over $6K; more than triple my monthly income before this program.”

Take a look and ask questions. If you need it, join us.

  1. Thanks Mark, a timely message for me. I need more of a strategy as my business has been more or less treading water for quite a long time and this needs to change. So I am dedicating some time this week to seriously considering some of my ideas and seeing if there are some small steps I can take towards implementing them.

  2. Beautiful! And appreciated. Thank you, Mark for the work you do in the world. Deep Thinking.. combined with tuning into Heart (… ie space in the place “beyond thought” imho) = “Good Works To Do” in the words of a dear Ojibway grandmother. I’ll be bringing this more deeply into the following months as I build my Massage Therapy practice. Blessings!

  3. Strategizing –the 10,000 foot view is so helpful.
Thanks for the reminder about incorporating time
    weekly for strategizing.

  4. Because I have had so much pain in my life from interaction with strategy that is not heart centered, I am only beginning to work with strategy as I recognize I can slow down and find ways that it can be in full alignment with my heart. Thanks for the encouragement.

  5. thanx mark for your heartfelt insights. so timely! this week i started composing words about what i do on a deeper thought level to clarify my images and their/my message to my viewers. blessings!

  6. Hi Mark, love this. It taps into something I’ve been feeling recently, which is the need to really focus on my grounding. It feels as though recent events are pulling me in so many directions, and yet I have to be grounded if I’m going to be able to support my clients in any way. It’s perhaps not quite “strategy” – more meditation, but in the end it winds up clarifying my direction anyway. Reminds me of one of my favourite stories about the Dalai Lama: “The Dalai Lama smiled and replied that on normal days, he meditates for 1 hour in the morning. He then smiled even bigger and said that on extremely busy days, he meditates for 2 hours in the morning.” 🙂

  7. Your heart certainly shines through powerfully in this message. And timely is the word – we’re certainly paying the serious consequences of a cultural rejection of deep thinking and true mastery in our choices for leadership. I feel the resonance of this message physically – it feels like a deep peace and gratitude, for a solid truth. It’s time to really and truly grow up, mature into the leaders we want to have.

I spent four hours with a partner this morning in strategic planning/honing my message for what feels like the presentation of a jewel…thanks to your teachings in the Heart of Money. I’ve been doing this work ten years – and it now feels so very different. My work, my contribution, really is a jewel that deserves my clear understanding and honoring through a powerful, unified, loving strategy.

    Thank you.

  8. Inspiring message, Mark! This call to intentional strategy feels like the balance of masculine structure and feminine flow. I certainly found new worlds of this in Foundations 3 last year, and continue to be wowed by the unfolding. Gratitude!
