[Video] Being Direct and Honest

I’m convinced… nah, I’m absolutely certain, that there are hundreds of thousands of dollars, millions of dollars, in potential business and clients sitting out there, not arriving in businesses like yours, for a fairly simple reason.

What’s missing? A little directness, and real honesty of the heart.

I don’t think anyone is actually be dishonest… but I think they aren’t letting their heart speak directly and clearly.

Let me talk about it, a little over three minutes.

Does this resonate with you? How direct and honest are you with potential clients? Where do you find yourself getting stuck or being less direct? Let’s help you!

With real appreciation,

And more?…

Our Learning Community is open and ready. There’s over 100 members who are currently actively helping each other develop their businesses, not to mention all that we’re giving them in terms of coaching, feedback and compassionate accountability.

There’s real sweetness and vulnerability as well, with people sharing from the heart of the challenges they are facing.

And concrete nitty-gritty of course, too, like help with getting a 1:1 client offer created and the sales page written, help answering strange, off-putting inquiries from clients, and also just the deep emotional and spiritual support that anyone of heart needs in facing what goes on in their business.

It’s beautiful. It’s effective. And it, too, is pay-from-the-heart.

Take a look, and it starts with a 10-day trial:

  1. Love this! I didn’t even realize how indirect I have been lately, mostly out of fear of abandonment or rejection. (Being afraid that they will think I am pushing them or sounding “salesy” and therefore losing them as a client)

  2. I’ve grown to be a lot more direct with time. Initially I was afraid that people will run away if I’m not coating everything in a dozen sugar layers, but now I say what I really mean, with empathy. I have many stories I could tell… None of them as cute as your story with Rocky, though 😉

For example the other day I got an inquiry from someone who is not a good fit, they contacted me via Facebook Messenger (that’s a bad sign… I don’t do business coms over Messenger). I asked them what type of design services they needed, and told them that I work in a different manner and they’d be better served by someone else. They kept going on maybe this maybe that, and I realized I need to be even clearer. So I said “My logo design prices start at X. If you’re not absolutely sure you want a new logo, I don’t think we’re the right fit, and I’ll happily recommend someone else.” And as I expected, they asked for a referral!
Just a couple of years ago I would have coddled them and I would do everything I can to keep them around and serve them even though it’s clearly not the right fit. But I’m aware now how my clarity and honesty helps everyone find the best option for themselves.

And whether it’s a coincidence or the Universe answering my ask, the next day I got an inquiry (wia my website project form) from someone who needs *exactly* what I do, and is happy to pay my fees. Funny how that always works out when you clear out the path from things that don’t fit.
