The problem? So many self-employed or small business people have shame pop up in the darndest places, and it often freezes them in their tracks. This keeps the business from developing, opportunities are lost, their gift to the world is hidden, and it can even threaten financial survival.
When I shoot a video, I like to keep them as short as possible because, hey, I know you’ve got a busy life. So, I’ve made a gargantuan effort to keep this video as short as possible, at 7 minutes, considering the MONSTER topic being tackled: shame.
This is not the be-all, end-all teaching on shame. However, there are some key insights I was given from my journey in Sufi-based spiritual healing about shame that can be extremely helpful, and the steps I recommend will work for many people in many situations.
Take a look, try it out, and see if it helps you move forward.

This is the kind of work we do in our Community.

There is and will be so much more shame being experienced and many who will need this wisdom to discern the feelings beneath that we protect. Thank you, Mark. I wish I had this information years ago. You did a beautiful job of explaining what happens.
I worked with my shame mostly on my own because my shame kept me isolated. The lack of money in my life (which I felt great shame about), and being so wiped out by my emotional reaction to EVERYTHING meant I couldn’t make a connection with anyone who could help me.
Eventually I came to realize I was constantly shaming myself by telling myself there was something wrong with me for *having physical sensations* and for *having emotional reactions to everything*.
It has taken years, but I have finally unwound all the parts and the shame felt away as I practiced acknowledging endlessly, it’s okay that I feel the way I feel! I thank God I am finally almost completely free of shame and deeply connected to my innocence instead.
To anyone who is working with shame I want to encourage you and say it is worth the work it takes to unwind all the untrue interpretations you made about yourself. It was SO WORTH all the work it took to get here! I really like myself now!
