Two things most folks never consider with their messaging

Last week I talked about how to make a short, effective presentation. However, there’s a lot more to be said on the topic.

That’s why I wanted to have a conversation with my friend and colleague Sasha Allenby, who is an expert on messaging. She wrote a brilliant book, Catalyst: Speaking, Writing and Leading for Social Evolution.

The book has a lot in it, but what we focused our conversation on was the important of selecting the right type of message, and the right tone. These are topics that rarely come up at all for entrepreneurs, even heart-centered ones. The idea that there are different types of messages, and different tones you can deliver them in… this kind of detail brings so much heart and consciousness to how you’re reaching your audience.

As a best-selling author and long-time ghost-writer behind many well-known spiritual leaders, Sasha has deep knowledge on this topic, and I’m so grateful she gave us some time to discuss this.

Here it is:

Obviously, I recommend her book highly. It’s one of the most detailed and practical guides on this topic I’ve seen, and that fact that it comes with a social justice frame just lights my heart up.

What did you take away from this conversation?

  1. Thank you, Mark and Sasha. This conversation came at exactly the right time for me to “get” the dynamics of the message I’m writing. It sort of mingled with my work this morning and I suddenly saw what I was trying to do.

  2. WOW. Wow. Wow. Wow. THIS WAS INCREDIBLE. THANK YOU, Mark, for bringing this forward!

I’ve been thinking about writing a book since 2016, with my audience in mind, and introducing these larger, evolutionary themes, and not knowing how to approach them. This looks like exactly what I need!

Did I hear you say, Mark, that you want to make a workshop from this? You looked really excited by the idea! I’d love to hear how you approach it!
