In my tradition, blessings are a real thing. They invoke and convey unseen support from the Divine, from the angels, from whatever you want to call the energies and care and love that exist in our realities.
It’s such an important part, a certain “baraka” as they say in my tradition, meaning, literally, a blessing.
Why now? Even though this is only nearly the New Year in the mainstream, and there are dozens of other faiths, traditions, cultures that mark the New Year at multiple different times in the seasonal cycle, for those of us who live in a westernized culture, there is a collective breath, sigh, pause that happens this time of year, that, I think, benefits in the receiving of blessings.
So, if you’re willing, allow me to bestow a blessing on you as we move into this new year. If you aren’t a fan of blessings, you can receive it simply as my good wishes for you.
