Only for the people who cherish you…

I was talking to one of our clients recently, and we were discussing creating offers, and content, and marketing… the whole thing of making the business visible in various ways.

And she admitted how intimidated she felt sometimes, thinking she had to convince people of what she was saying.

I’m going to keep this brief, because it’s a short message, to tell you what I told her.

“Only speak to people who cherish you.”

It’s easy, when creating something in your business, to imagine a skeptical, frowning someone, with their arms crossed, and a look in their eye that says, “Yeah, sure, whatever… prove it to me…”

Do not talk to these people! These are not the people you’re talking to!

In this moment, as I’m writing to you, I can see clearly my client’s face, I can see the folks in our Learning Community, I can see folks I know only through social media who are so friendly, and warm and open-hearted toward me.

Those are the folks I’m writing to, and creating for. To you, who cherish the work, the heart, and the care I’m bringing. Because I also cherish you, your business, the dreams you are bringing to the world.

Let’s cherish each other, to be the earth for one another, to life each other up. That’s what I’m in for.

If someone needs convincing, they can listen in. They are welcome on our email list, and in my audience. I have an open heart toward them, and no discernible need in me to make them like me or believe me.

I used to have that, I used to get caught focusing on those folks.

No longer. I respect them, because I’m skeptical about some people, too. And skepticism can be healthy for the person who is expressing it.

But, it’s not a relationship of cherishing. And I don’t create for the skeptics.

As I said, if a skeptic likes what I’m creating for the folks with whom I’m in a mutual relationship of cherishing, that’s great.

For you, how does that change things?

If you think of something you are needing or wanting to create for your business, and you bring to your heart the face of someone who already cherishes you and your work… what does that do for your creativity?

Let me know.
