Any Part of You Wanting to Be Invisible

hidingOf course we all want to fill our practices, sell as many products as possible, have clients lined up outside out door . . . But what about those places in us that are hiding behind the counter, so to speak.

When I was 18, I took off for Seattle from Southern California between high school and college. For a while I worked the front desk of a Capitol Hill neighborhood sauna. Steamy, lots of towels to fold, and late night hours. That meant it was just me and the customers when I was working.

There were plenty of nights when I couldn’t wait to close up and go home. Those were the late 70s and for me a time of New Age everything. That included believing that if I just imagined that there was not front door to the sauna, I could will no more customers coming in after a certain time. As you might imagine, it worked about half the time. 🙂

Is there any part of you backing away from your potential clients or customers? Places where you are uncertain, sure that if you just prepare one more piece of your business, you can really begin putting yourself out there?

Just for the heck of it, I’m declaring this week–get out from behind the counter week. Open that front door, stand in it, wear your business heart on your sleeve and really invite your people in.

That reminds me, The Sacred Moment Seminar early-bird deadline is next week. If you get plenty of calls but few yes responses, you might want to check it out.

See you in the Tent,

Kate
