It’s worth it to take a little time to see if you and we are a good fit.

There’s lots of places to get business support, and many have strong integrity and good information. So the big question is if you’re comfortable with us, and whether our values and approach fit with you and what you care about.

Service-based businesses

At the core you provide a service. This can seem broad, ranging from accountants to holistic health care practitioners and spiritual healers, from executive coaches and consultants to artists and teachers.

Plus, our most successful clients
share these values with us:

Contribution and service are needs.
You aren’t just in it for yourself, or to make a buck. You want to succeed, yet you also want to help others. You want to contribute in your own way to making this world a better place.
Success is a good thing.
However you define it for yourself, it’s okay to succeed, it’s okay to make money, it’s okay that your business works well.
Spirituality is real.
You know that there’s more than the physical world, and that there are so many different ways, paths, and approaches to connect with the Infinite.
Integrity is non-negotiable.
Honesty and trust are how you show up in the world, and you will not betray them for any kind of material gain.

We define business as “the relationships you have around your livelihood.” Caring for those relationships in a way that allows you to make a living, including a relationship with you and your own heart, takes tending to three areas: spirituality, power and business.

1. Spirituality

Spirituality helps us access the fullness and depth of our reality and existence. It helps us anchor and immerse in love and care, hear the guidance of our heart, and to face challenges without collapse.

In the Sufi tradition at the center of Heart of Business teachings, there is no space that isn’t sacred, including business. All creatures, human as well as our other relations, are all part of the Whole. When we are aware of the presence of spirit, we remember that no one and nothing is other.

2. Power

A healthier, more conscious relationship with power- individual, collective and systemic- is how we embrace relationships of mutual care, of honoring the diversity that brings health to every ecosystem, to every tapestry of relationship.

Without understanding power, our businesses risk getting caught up using unethical strategies and tactics that feel horrible to the heart, hurt others, and cost us clients. And we also risk being left out of the circle of care, giving way too much to others out of habit or pressure, and ending up taken advantage of, injured or sick.

With a healthier relationship to power, we gain a deep sense of connection to the wider world, and a way to create and deepen trust with other people that really supports our business. It is nourishing to experience your business as part of making things right.

3. Business

Business is understanding how commerce can work beyond capitalism. How we can offer our services, our gifts, in a way that supports us.

Without understanding business, there is no understanding of where clients and money come from, and a feeling of scattered overwhelm often sets in.

With an understanding of business you can develop your business as a coherent whole, with every single element feeling good and working together to move you into a momentum that truly supports you. Humans have engaged in many different forms of trade and commerce for thousands of years. Our current system of capitalism is new, toxic and unnecessary. We can do business in much more beautiful ways.

When you tend to these three areas, your heart feels full, your path becomes clear, your business works, financially supporting you while you use your gifts to care for others.

What does it feel like to work with us?

Here’s how Anita described it:

“I’ve had some really amazing breakthroughs through just being so beautifully witnessed by the group on the calls.  Also by Mark and his lovely wise presence.  He listens from his heart, and somehow in this way he kind of gives me back to myself, which is an incredible gift.

“And through Heart of Business, through these past two years, taking the time to listen and feel and connect has helped me establish a whole new relationship with my art and my business. Now I have partnerships and collaborations that are working really well for me, that feel authentic to me.”

Some of the things we believe that shape how we support you:

Wisdom lives inside any so-called “resistance,” something that needs to be listened to and honored, not pushed through.

There is no one right way to do anything. There are principles that help us understand how things work, but there are so many individual ways to express those principles.

Your whole life counts. We don’t want to live in a world where your business demands 100% of you, and you have to ignore all the other things and relationships you deeply care about.

In short, we hold a gentle, strong container for you to both learn new things, to feel safe enough to be uncomfortable and stretch, and, at the same time, to deeply trust your own heart and your own path, to not put anyone else’s wisdom above your own.

Gentle. Fun. Irreverent. Sacred.

Grounded.

About Holly and Mark

Mark Silver, M.Div.

Since 1999, I have worked with over 4000 small business owners. I’m a teacher in Nicole Lee’s Inclusive Life work, at the intersection of spirituality and DEIB. I’m also a recognized master teacher in my Sufi lineage.

I grew up in small business, learning from my parents who ran the retail store my grandfather started in the 1930’s.

I so love this work, unveiling love in the realm of business. Business healing is not all that’s necessary to bring justice and love and compassion to this world, but it’s a much-needed, often-neglected, piece of the work.

I’m so grateful to also serve on the Board of Directors for the Horn Farm Center for regenerative agriculture education. And I’m shocked to see our twin sons becoming adults.

I’m often out in the woods, gathering hickory nuts, or thinking about where to plant the next fruit tree.

Holly Glaser

Since I can remember, the central question in my heart has been; “What is the most effective fulcrum for making the world a better place?”  And, gratefully, Heart of Business checks the most important box, moving from living in our heads to living from our hearts.

When respect and care are non-negotiable, an economy of extraction is impossible.

My journey has taken me through dozens of trainings and I continue that journey today. I’ve studied hypnotherapy, several types of massage, Family Constellations, Non-violent Communication, and Sufi Healing. Much of my learning now is focused on how to gently integrate the many traumas we carry.

Otherwise I’m digging in the garden, cooking huge pots of soup to share, or simply out listening to the trees.

Does this sound like where you can have fun and grow your business?

If so, then I feel confident that we can really help you get more clients and make more money, and, most importantly, be in integrity, and spiritually connected, while doing it.

Maybe we’ve only just met...

If so, you may want to get to know us a little bit first, by signing up for our Wednesday letter from Mark.
