Accounting as spiritual practice

Hey there,

The difference between spiritual practice and accounting for/taking care of your money? Honestly? Nothing at all.

Or at least there shouldn’t be.

The main difference is how people approach both activities.

For spiritual practice, any competent spiritual teacher will tell you to let emotions arise, to give them space, to not rush through the practice trying to squash, avoid or get rid of emotions. That the practice is intended to let all of that come up, and then let something bigger help bring in healing/love/mindfulness/awareness/whatever it is so you can be a healthier place with everything.

Yet for any kind of financial task it’s more like, “I’ll hold my breath and get through this as fast as I can so I can get on to doing other things!” (If one does it at all…)

In the Heart of Money Transformational Journey, our 8 week program to help you shift your relationship with money in significant, lasting ways, we give you the support and structure on *how* to treat accounting/bookkeeping/financial tasks as a spiritual practice.

And you know what happens for participants? Deep, lasting healing in very micro parts of their finances. The lifting of a heavy feeling in the heart, a feeling of peace and love and beauty and CLARITY and STRENGTH in facing financial tasks, a feeling which has sometimes eluded them for years.

It’s beautiful to witness!

And whether you’ve been making a good amount of money, and yet struggling with it, or if you’re just plain struggling with money, please join us. This course is liberating on so many levels.

It starts in early January, but the pre-work is released to registered participants later this week, so folks will be digging in.

Is 2019 the year you get healthy with money, so your business can thrive MUCH more easily?

“I’m grateful. I’m finally able to start paying some of my bills from income instead of from savings… I don’t really understand how it all showed up. it seemed to just kind of happen, one little piece at at time… seems to keep getting better.”
-Kristen Beard, past participant

  1. As someone engaged in accounting work, I found the exploration of mindfulness, intentionality, and ethical considerations in financial management to be refreshing and inspiring. The article challenges conventional views of accounting as purely transactional and emphasizes the deeper meaning and impact that mindful accounting practices can have on individuals and their relationship with money.
