“When you’ve got a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
A line I couldn’t resist out of this week’s article. And how could I pass up this psychedelic hammer? Can’t you just feel you hand on the handle, the satisfaction of driving that nail down to the wood’s surface.
As a kid, I loved going into our garage to experiment with my dad’s tools. He had hundreds of them. I would nail pieces of wood together that were perfectly happy being independent, saw hatch marks in the work bench, and make sculptures out of bailing wire. But I have to say, I took special pride in my ability to take apart unfixably broken transistor radios, clocks, and other appliances–all the pieces left carefully in tact.
In all my tooling around, I rarely fixed anything. I sure did enjoy myself though. Hallucinating nails crying to be sunk, how often do you reach for your hammer? Don’t miss the insights in this week’s article below.
