Where do Heart of Business teachings originate from?

I know that business teachings, as well as spiritual teachings, can sometimes just be pulled out of someone’s hind parts… not so useful, or sanitary. So where do Heart of Business teachings originate from?

For me, it was back in 2001 when I first started to get a glimmer of what would become my body of work. I was studying Sufi healing with my teachers, and really stunned at both my internal experience, and what I saw happening with myself and others.

This led me to take a deep dive into the esoteric teachings from this 1300 year old lineage I was studying.

At the same time, I was learning all I could about business and communication from a variety of sources. Some were ethical, big-hearted people (shout out to the now-retired Robert Middleton of ActionPlan.club among others). Some were much less so, but still had interesting insights and ideas about marketing and business that I was learning.

Then, one day while I was at the healing school, I received a spiritual “download” so-to-speak. I saw how the template for a particular approach to healing we were learning was mirrored in a certain approach to a marketing message. Wild… I was stunned.

There were, of course, differences between the two. But once I really saw how spiritual realities, teachings, awarenesses, were present within physical and mental models in the 3D world, I started seeing them everywhere.

In Heart of Business, the practice I took on was finding if there were differences between the spiritual and the business teaching in, say, how to create a marketing message, I would alter the business teaching to more fully mirror the spiritual.

With that, Heart of Business began.

Why tell you all of this?

The reason I want you to know this history is because I want you to trust your heart. You never have to betray your heart, or love, or your spiritual connection, to make your business work for you. Never.

The idea that you do your beautiful, sacred work with clients, or elsewhere in your life, but business is somehow exempt, or different, and it somehow is supposed to get a “pass” on ethics or love, is bankrupt. It’s toxic.

There are no exceptions to love. There are no exceptions to Wholeness and Oneness. The Divine is within everything.

Yes, things get twisted or covered over in the physical world, and it’s harder sometimes to discern the essence. This is why I sometimes have to make changes to business approaches, to make sure that they are in alignment with what I understand the spiritual essence to be.

In a more beautiful world, one that is still imperfect and growing and changing, our practices and culture, and work and everything should still closely mirror the essence of reality.

Take the time to listen deeply and trust your heart. There is always a way through.

with love,

Mark Silver, M.Div.

P.S.  How does this relate to Leading Groups?

Over the years I’ve seen a million marketing messages, “Start a membership group!” “Start group coaching!” “Start… <flavor of the month.”> And they are all pitched to be The Answer to business woes.

This is one of those times where there is an essence of truth here, but it’s twisted and covered over. There is no one approach that is healthy and workable for everyone. At the same time, if leading groups is in your heart, it can be extremely helpful in balancing out your business financially, time-wise, impact-wise.

If you’re thinking you might at one point lead groups, or want to get started now, or are already leading groups in your business…

This course arises out of more than thirty years of teaching and facilitation experience, and is Heart of Business through and through, with both practical, immediately applicable, and spiritual healing elements all included.

It’s also intended to be fun, and not consuming.
