6 parts to healing visibility and outreach issues

Hello,

I want to assure you that I’m not going to try to convince you there’s a simple 6-step process to healing all of your issues around visibility and outreach for your business.

However, it’s also not complicated or difficult. There are just a few parts to it. Six that I’ve identified, for sure.

I shot this video, right around 4 minutes, explaining each of the six pieces, and I think you’ll agree it makes a lot of sense. Taking in each of these, and doing even a little heart-work where appropriate can help you make some big leaps forward.

And no, we’re not trying to turn anyone into an extrovert. We just want to help you have a healthier relationship with who you already are, so your business can blossom.

Take a look:

What’s your experience with visibility and outreach? Do you find it easy? Do these six pieces make sense?

Your business isn’t broken, it’s just developing.
You don’t ask a four year old kid to cook dinner, and you don’t ask an seven year old to drive the car to town to do the grocery shopping. There’s nothing wrong with those kids, they’re just still growing up.
It’s the same with your business. You may be wanting it to produce something… and it can! But having reasonable expectations, and understanding exactly what it needs in order to develop quickly, will help a lot.
Take our free assessment. It will help you understand the four stages, where you are, and what you need to do to move forward. Plus, you’ll get a personal response!

  1. I love this video AND I want to point out something that makes me somewhere between irritated and angry: Extroverts aren’t necessarily any better at this than introverts.

Extroversion and introversion have NOTHING to do with whether you are shy or have other issues with visibility. They are all about where you get your energy. As an introvert, you may find the idea of walking into a room full of strangers terrifying AND you know that being around that many people is going to drain your energy. That’s a pretty nasty combo. Mark’s tips in the video will help you with the how to talk to them part. You will also have to spend some time alone to recharge before going in there and take some time alone to recover afterwards.

I’m an extrovert. So walking into a room full of people (strangers or otherwise) energises me. I can be feeling a bit low and going out where there are people will help boost my energy. But that doesn’t change the part about not knowing what to say to the people in the room. I still need the great tips Mark gives in this video. The difference is, I don’t need the alone time before and afterwards to manage my energy. In fact, if I have a lot of alone time (which I do now because I work alone from home, mostly online), I have to remind myself that going out and being with people will help, even if I’m not sure what to say to them.

Being more accurate about what it means to be introverted or extroverted helps us all find better strategies for doing business (and life). There are shy extroverts. There are introverts who actually don’t have a problem talking to strangers or speaking to a crowd as long as they have some alone time to recharge before and after.

And there are other reasons you might like smaller or larger groups, or synchronous or asynchronous communication. Things like distractibility, how quickly you process information, whether you process visual or aural information more easily, etc.

    1. SO, so true, JoVE- I’m really glad you named this! In the interest of concision for the video, this incredibly important point wasn’t named. And I know it personally, as a “sensitive” extrovert, where loud noises and big crowds can be overwhelming to my senses, even as my social energy is getting charged. I’m grateful you took the time to spell this all out.

  2. There are shy extroverts and introverts who actually don’t have a problem talking to strangers or speaking to a crowd. This is a really great post and so informative, keep up the good work.

  3. Hi, I really like reading your article. It’s short and easy to relate to. I write similar blogspot everyday. Would you be willing to accept guess blog?

Hope to hear from you soon.

  4. Most of the people fail in their business just because of the visibility and outreach issue.
I have seen people, they tried outreaching for their business but they give up in the first few tries, maybe they were introverts.

Nobody can change anyone if they don’t want to change themselves.
Anyways, You have a great blog man!!
    Thanks a lot.

    Regards
    Aditya
