[Video] How to take four weeks of vacation per year without losing income

This week my family and I are on vacation. Of course, with the pandemic we don’t have the usual family vacation with my sister’s family and my parents at the beach, which is a big loss for all of us, and we have some grief.

Nevertheless, I still guarded this week as a vacation week where I’m not working at all, so if you email or message me, no worries, I’ll see it next week!

I thought it appropriate to share a little trick with the calendar that, if you’re intentional, you can plan four weeks of vacation per year, without taking a significant, or sometimes any hit, to your business revenue.

It may take a little planning, but what do you think? Can you make the shifts I mention and make it work? Wouldn’t that be AMAZING!?

Two Things: Diversity course and podcast appearances.

Thing One: Two very different podcast appearances

I appeared on two VERY different podcasts recently!

One was the Plant Yourself podcast, hosted by Howard Jacobson, an amazing, heart-centered person. I have huge respect for him, and was delighted to be in conversation with him.

The episode covered How to succeed at (Small, Heart-centered) Business, and here’s what Howard said:

“I wanted to pick Mark’s brain on behalf of the many listeners who are in some kind of career limbo in the age of pandemic – unemployed, underemployed, unsure about the future, sick of being a cog in the capitalist system, tired of relying on yucky tactics to make payroll – and want a way forward that meets their needs and is in service of a More Beautiful World.”

The other one was a conversation with Harris Eddie Hill on the Transection Podcast, “fun and interesting conversations about trans life and intersecting issues.”

We discussed the state of the world, capitalism, the long history of ally/friendship between trans and bisexual communities, business. There were tears- I started it.

I love Harris, and it was such a delightful conversation. I think you might enjoy it, too.
