When you have unsustainable volunteer commitments

So… a few weeks ago, in a Virtual Retreat within our Learning Community, one of our members brought up a topic that was heart-rending for her, really, really hard to find resolution.

I’ve been wanting to bring to you all since then, but it’s messy, it’s nuanced, and I don’t have an easy 1-2-3 answer to it. It has to do when you have a community or organization that you care about, but the commitment to them is taking up a LOT of time, and draining you.

Because it’s a bit more of a nuanced conversation, needing some background, the video I made is a little longer than usual, but still only 12 minutes, so hopefully easy to get through, if it’s relevant to you.

I’m so curious how this lands with you, if it’s relevant, what your heart tells you?

The Learning Community has community-like aspects…

This whole discussion above is where the email that I sent yesterday came from, that our Learning Community is not exactly a “community.” Although it has community-like aspects to it, it’s a service.

What that means is that you don’t have to give unsustainable amounts of time to make it work for you. We’re here, our team, including our community facilitators, to make it all work for you. But you can get support and care without giving away huge amounts of time.

You can develop your business at your own pace, with our help.

We’re only open for new members through Tuesday, March 7, or until we reach 50 new members, whichever comes first. As usual, folks wait for deadlines, so we’re not full yet. If the page is open to join, you can join.
